Typology

  1. It's crazy to see how different the sky looks in regards to tones and hue in these and also how the lines vary. I like the fact that in some you lined the cloud streaks up with the power lines (very smart and attentive to detail). I definitely think you could keep shooting this and make it even a bigger typology!

  2. You and your airplanes lol. I love them! They're so fun and almost interactive to the viewer. I like all the different shades of blue and all the personalized trails that the planes leave! To move forward, maybe try taking more during different seasons, so that you get different warm or cool shades of blue. Try to take a few more with some sort of land as an anchor point. It can get repetitive with just the plane's exhaust lines, and the land being included here or there could help the viewer become drawn in again.

  3. I know you had said you were struggling a bit with this subject, but I think what you have so far is really interesting and there is lots of variety. I think as you continue with this project it will only grow and get better. This is a really interesting idea and i'm excited to see where it goes. I love your compositions and how you choose to have the plane going across the image, like it's going to keep flying off the page.

  4. this is pretty COOL and i am surprised you were able to find so many trails. must have been some serious dedication on your way to Saver's to get your barbies.. anyway it is amazing the different tones in the sky, i feel like that could be a typology in its self. i love your arrangement so it actually looks like your looking up at the sky there isn't one photo i keep looking at my eye keeps waning in and out of pictures. i think is was a really interesting subject. i also think shooting them at totally different times of days and all around the country would be a really cool typology to continue for as long as you have your camera. I could see like a huge canvas being hung up at a travel agency $

  5. You told me that you were struggling to find your subject but turns out you have a lot of great stuff here to work with. Every time I saw a plane and left behind this trail I though of you. I love how each sky is a different shade of blue and how each plane leaves behind a different trail. Great job can't wait to see more!

  6. I really like this project. You did a great job of organizing these in a way that makes the project energetic. I also really appreciate the ones that don't go in a straight line. It's a nice way to break things up and not make the images feel repetitive. The way you incorporate the power lines by having them be parallel to the trail is a really nice way to make them unique too. I can tell you are being conscientious and giving though to the color of the skies and how they distinguish one image from another. The use of trees to ground the images is good too, but I wonder if you can find other ways to incorporate them more so they are not out numbered/overwhelmed by the skies.

  7. This idea is coming along well. Now start another set. I really enjoyed this layout and arrangement, especially with the ground horizon plane. Maybe move the red corner of the house and switch it with the Left tree, keep more balance. Do three sets of these.

  8. This is a super cool idea- I always look at these trails but I'd never think to photograph them. I love the linearity of the photos with the power lines in them, and the contrast of the trails against the trees. I'd like to see how it would look if you arranged the powerline ones all in a row like you did with the tree photos.
